Miami's community-based Samba percussion collective, has been uniting the 305 through performances and percussion education since 2017.
Dubbed "The Beat of The Diaspora," Miamibloco showcases rhythmic excellence and a diverse ensemble that reflects the vibrant tapestry of South Florida's cultures. Co-led by percussionist Dr.Brian Potts and Urban Planner suOm Francis, Miamibloco is a local living cultural movement, centered on Samba drums and community participation, fueled by the unmistakable party spirit of Miami's eclectic melting pot.
Inspired by the street blocos and samba schools of Rio de Janeiro, the group functions as a percussion social club that’s open to percussionists and dancers of all levels of experience.
